Jürgen Teutsch was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1969. He studied Mechanical Engineering with a major in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH), Germany, and obtained his academic degree with a final examination on GPS-data post-processing carried out at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Delft University of Technology (TUD), the Netherlands, in 1995. Jürgen has been involved in several multi-national research initiatives in the area of ATM and airport technologies, among which the most prominent are AFAS, Gate-to-Gate, C-ATM, and EMMA. As part of the currently active Single European Sky ATM Research Joint Undertaking (SESAR-JU), he has been working in airport-related work packages for the airport consortium SEAC and was responsible for the execution of the Milan Malpensa real-time simulations on Virtual Block Control for Italian Air Navigation Service Provider ENAV. As validation specialist for the NLR ATM Research Simulator (NARSIM), he has also made major contributions to the development of the European Operational Concept Validation Methodology (E-OCVM).
